Tesla Charging Cost is designed to make estimates inspectable rather than authoritative.

How we label results

Confirmed means a result comes directly from a user input, documented rule, or returned public source field. Estimated means it depends on an assumption, range, or structural interpretation. Not available means the information is insufficient to make a reliable claim.

How calculators and lookups are built

Calculation formulas and VIN validation are kept separate from the interface and tested against boundary cases. VIN lookups return selected public NHTSA fields through a timeout, hashed short cache, and best-effort rate limit. We do not retrieve private Tesla account data.

Updates and corrections

We date-check pages and link readers to the underlying source where a rule matters. If a rule is uncertain or changes by location, the page describes that limit instead of treating an estimate as a fact.
