Data Sources

Sources are attached to tools where they affect an estimate or rule.

VIN data

The VIN decoder uses the public NHTSA vPIC API after local format and check-digit validation. It displays only selected returned fields, treats blank fields as unavailable, and does not infer battery, trim, hardware, ownership, accident, or official warranty records.

Warranty data

The Warranty Checker uses versioned current US Tesla warranty rules. Older delivery dates or unsupported trim names return Unable to determine instead of receiving current terms.

Charging data

The charging calculator links Tesla Wall Connector power guidance and EPA/DOE efficiency records in its model data. Usable-capacity and Wh/mi defaults remain editable model-level estimates, not live telemetry, current Supercharger pricing, or a promise for a specific year or trim.

Installation cost data

The installation calculator keeps versioned national Estimated ranges in its public rule file. Tesla documentation supports the conditions that can change work, including distance, panel work, permits, hidden routing, and trenching. HomeAdvisor and Angi national cost references support the numeric planning allowances. Local electricians, code authorities, utilities, and site conditions remain definitive.

Loan data

The loan calculator links CFPB and IRS consumer references; neither provides a personal quote.
